Oregon Kicker Confirmed: Residents Getting Money Back On Taxes
A good year for Oregon is turning to a good year for its residents who will get 17 percent of their 2020 state taxes back.

GRESHAM, OR — A good year for Oregon means a good year for its residents. The state announced Tuesday that residents will get a rebate of 17.341 percent of their 2020 tax liability.
The rebate, also known as a "kicker," happens when the Oregon's revenue is at least 2 percent greater than the state's forecasters had predicted.
The state blew past that and ended up with a $1.9 billion surplus.

Officials want people to remember several things:
1) If you have any state debt, Oregon can take your kicker payment to pay off the debt;
2) The kicker comes as a rebate on your 2021 taxes, not as a check or other form of payment to you.
