Amaya Torres, 14, was last seen at her Gresham home Tuesday night before she was found Wednesday, apparently thanks to news reports.

GRESHAM, OR — A teen girl from Gresham who was missing for less than 24 hours was returned home Wednesday afternoon, according to Gresham police.

Amaya Torres, 14, went missing around 10 p.m. June 26. She was last seen at her home near Northeast 19th Street and Northeast Hogan Drive, police officials said. When she disappeared, Amaya appeared depressed and gave her family reason to worry she may hurt herself.

Shortly after police released the alert that Amaya was missing, however, she was found and returned home.
