2 Women Hurt In Head-On Crash North Of Hillsboro: Sheriff

Washington County Sheriff's officials say alcohol may have been a factor in a car crash on NW Cornelius Pass Road Monday afternoon.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR — Two women were hurt when their cars collided head-on north of Hillsboro Monday afternoon. Washington County Sheriff's authorities reportedly believe alcohol was a contributing factor.

Beaverton resident Rebecca Field, 50, sustained serious injuries when Shannon Cravens veered into Field's lane and slammed her 2006 Chrysler Sebring convertible into Field's 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Cravens, a 40-year-old Hillsboro resident, sustained critical injuries and required a LifeFlight helicopter to rush her to a nearby hospital.

Cravens has not been charged with any crimes at this time.

Washington County investigators reportedly believe Cravens was traveling north on Northwest Cornelius Pass Road just before 3:45 p.m. Aug. 20 when she crossed over into the southbound lane, crashing into Field just south of the turn onto Northwest Old Pass Road. Field was taken to hospital by ambulance after she was extricated from her Toyota.

The current condition for either woman is unknown.

Northwest Cornelius Pass Road was closed for several hours while the Washington County inter-agency Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team investigated. The roadway reopened around 7 p.m.
