After funding hurdles with city, county and state partners, owners invested heavily to keep the club in town. Opening Day 2026 is set for April 7, with leaders aiming to “blow people away.” 
• Beaverton vet arraigned for dog torture (koin.com) — A Beaverton veterinarian appeared in a Hillsboro courtroom to face multiple animal abuse charges tied to the death of a customer’s dog. Prosecutors allege he tortured and killed a dachshund named Bleu, accusations he denies by pleading not guilty. Community members who attended the hearing voiced outrage and called for accountability as the case proceeds in Washington County.
