Hillsboro Weil Arcade Fire Ruled Arson, Suspect Arrested, Charged
Hillsboro Police say that Roel Leon is charged with arson for the Weil Arcade Fire Sunday night.

HILLSBORO, OR — Hillsboro Police arrested a 34-year-old man, charging him with arson for the fire in the historic Weil Arcade Building Sunday night. Roel Leon lives in Hillsboro.
The fire affected dozens of businesses. Eight were forced to relocate, 11 were damaged enough that they had to close but should be able to reopen after repairs and cleaning, and 18 others were impacted by power outages, loss of access, and other minor issues.
Leon is also charged with arsons in two nearby vehicles the same night and a burglary downtown last month.

The fire at the Weil Arcade Building, a 100-year-old structure, went to four alarms and involved fire departments from several nearby places. Several business and nonprofits are raising money for the affected businesses.
