Hillsboro's Inukai Family Boys & Girls Club Removing Asphalt

HILLSBORO, OR – Have any plans for Saturday morning and early afternoon? Consider heading over to the Inukai Family Boys & Girls Club on Southeast 3rd Avenue.
A volunteer work party is being held to make the place more user-friendly.

The effort is being hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metropolitan Area and Depave, a Portland nonprofit that works to renovate what they call "over-paved" areas.
Rachel Schutz, Area Director of Youth, Family, & Trauma Informed Services and the Inukai Family Club says that. "I couldn’t possibly be more excited about this project, the impact it will have, and that we get to include our community and families in the process!

"This project is critically needed to give our youth a safe, accessible, place to play in nature, something that has limited access at our Club and surrounding neighborhood.”"
The "party" woll take place from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. and is part of the city's annual community service day.
