• 2025 IN REVIEW: A big year for business in west Washington County (forestgrovenewstimes.com) — Hillsboro saw a flurry of business changes in 2025, from Jollibee’s long-awaited opening in Tanasbourne and new rooftop dining downtown to the closure of Macy’s and beloved spots like Arcade 2084. South Hillsboro’s Reed’s Crossing Town Center also filled rapidly with restaurants, shops, and services, reshaping where locals eat, shop, and gather across the city. 
• Life Flight Network to open 24/7 transport base at Hillsboro Airport (forestgrovenewstimes.com) — A new 24/7 Life Flight Network base is coming to Hillsboro Airport, bringing faster emergency air medical transport for local residents and surrounding counties starting in January 2026. The base will house both a fixed-wing plane and helicopter, operate as a mobile ICU, and create about 20 local jobs while boosting Washington County’s regional emergency preparedness.
• Person found dead inside car in driveway of Hillsboro residence; suspect in custody (kgw.com) — Hillsboro police say a person was found dead inside a car in the driveway of a local home Saturday afternoon, and a suspect was arrested about two hours later during a nearby traffic stop. Investigators report no ongoing danger to the community and are still determining what led to the death, asking anyone with information to reference case number 25-25527.
