Other service adjustments:

  • As of Friday, September 3, study rooms are closed.
  • Starting Monday, September 13, evening hours will be extended two hours Monday – Thursday with a new closing time of 8 pm. We hope this will allow patrons to spread out their visits.
  • 3D printing service is available by email or appointment only. The Collaboratories (maker spaces) will remain closed.
  • Notary service is available at a dedicated notary station with a Plexiglas barrier.
  • Friends of the Library only accepts donations by appointment or scheduled donation days, September 18 and October 16, from 9 am to noon.
  • Curbside service and Book-a-Librarian appointments continue.

A note from Library Director Hillary Ostlund

Thank you to our patrons and the Hillsboro community for your continued flexibility and understanding! We are doing all we can to maintain and offer library services that we know you need and love. Our employees and volunteers have shown creativity, compassion, and sheer determination to keep our libraries going for you – we are making these minor adjustments so that we can continue to keep our buildings open safely for you.

During this time, we ask that you limit your visits and keep your time in the library to no more than 2 hours. Think Express! This time limit allows people to use our computers, browse and pick up materials, and we hope to take care of needed library business.

We look forward to returning to spend-as-much-time-as-you'd-like times when it is safe to do so.

If you aren't quite ready to come back in, don't worry! You can still call if you'd rather pick up your items outside – we'll bring them out to you. We are also happy to help with recommendations or a bundle of books. Just ask! Please call 503-615-6500 with any additional questions.
