'Masked Pirate' Burglar Wanted In Washington County: Sheriff
The uniquely disguised burglar allegedly stole a safe containing more than $4,000 from the Last Lap in Cornelius on July 22.

CORNELIUS, OR — An alleged burglar whose choice of disguise earned him the moniker "Masked Pirate" is suspected of stealing a safe from a pub in Cornelius last month. On Thursday, Washington County Sheriff's Officials serving the city of Cornelius released surveillance video and images with the hope community members might help identify him.
The burglary occurred at the Last Lap pub, 1515 N. Adair St., around 9:30 p.m. July 22. But Last Lap employees didn't call the burglary in until after 10 a.m. July 23, when they opened the pub for the day only to find their floor safe was missing — along with more than $4,000.
In the video released by the Washington County Sheriff's Office the Masked Pirate burglar is seen entering the Last Lap through a side door after business hours while carrying a fire extinguisher.

Wearing a brownish-colored shirt that covered only his chest and shoulders, and a cheap-looking pirate mask attached to a pair of glasses — which also included a parrot, eye patch, and fake beard — the suspected burglar in the video is seen wandering what appears to be the pub's storage area before spotting the safe on the floor. As he examines the floor safe, the burglar also spots the surveillance camera.
The video ends with the burglar disabling the camera.

What the surveillance video did not capture, police said, was the burglar removing the safe with a hand truck and loading it onto a white pickup. The pickup was later found abandoned in Western Washington County; it's license plates had been stripped, but police determined the vehicle was previously reported stolen.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about this burglary or burglary suspect to call Cornelius deputies at 503-629-0111.
