National Weather Service Warns Of Oregon Coast Sneaker Waves Sunday
The weather is going to be nice, which means that people will be headed out to the coast. Forecasters say beware of sneaker waves.

OREGON COAST, OR — "Never turn your back to the ocean," forecasters from the National Weather Service's Portland office warned on Saturday. The warning came as they said that sneaker waves are expected along the coast.
"Sneaker wave threat increases at the beaches on Sunday," the wrote in an advisory. "These high energy waves can run up further than other waves and swiftly move large logs and knock you of your feet."
With the weather expected to be nice, the coast should draw people interested in everything from just enjoying the day to people digging for razor clams.

"Remain vigilant and aware of the ocean and surf," according to forecasters. Stay clear of jetties and if you are on the beach, never turn your back to the ocean.
