Plane Crashes Soon After Takeoff At Hillsboro Airport

HILLSBORO, OR — A single-engine plane with two people on board crashed soon after taking off from Hillsboro Airport around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Hillsboro Fire & Rescue.

The two unidentified people on board were not injured, the agency said.

The plane lost power and crashed near the intersection of Northeast Evergreen Road and Northeast 25th Avenue, about 2.5 miles from the airport's runway, fire officials said.

The two occupants were able to get out of the plane on their own, according to fire officials.

Evergreen Road was closed for about two hours while the scene was cleared, officials said.
