HILLSBORO, OR — Hillsboro police on Wednesday shot an alleged burglar in a residential area near the Hillsboro airport. On Thursday, Hillsboro Police Department spokesman Sgt. Eric Bunday offered a few more details about the incident.
According to Bunday, officers were dispatcher to a burglary-in-progress in the 2100-block of Northeast Montgomery Street around 7:40 a.m. May 2.
Two of the responding officers reportedly ran into the burglar who was still in the home. Surprised, the suspect tried to stab one of the officers with a "sharp-edged tool," Bunday said; the other officer fired an unknown number of rounds, hitting the suspect.
