School Bus Hits 84-Year-Old Pedestrian On TV Highway

The bus driver reportedly had the right-of-way when he struck a female octogenarian in a crosswalk while taking children to school Friday.

HILLSBORO, OR — A female pedestrian was hit by a school bus near Tualatin Valley Highway and Southeast Century Boulevard in Hillsboro Friday morning, Hillsboro police spokesman Sgt. Eric Bunday confirmed.

Bunday told Patch no children on the bus were injured when the bus driver, heading south, turned left from Southeast Century Boulevard onto the eastbound lanes of TV Highway just after 7:45 a.m. May 4.

An 84-year-old woman in the crosswalk, however, sustained serious injuries, Bunday said.
