Transient Arrested For Murder In Forest Grove: Police

Kamen Baer was arrested Thursday for the murder of Cynthia Lou Belton last month, police said.

HILLSBORO, OR — A transient has been arrested in connection with a murder in Forest Grove, police announced Thursday.

Kamen Richard Baer, 38, was taken to Washington County Jail following his arrest in Hillsboro. He is charged with murder.

Forest Grove detectives investigating the murder of 54-year-old Cynthia Lou Belton reportedly executed a search warrant at a home in the 100-block of Southeast 26th Avenue in Hillsboro April 19. Baer, a transient, was arrested at the home.

Belton's murder investigation began after Forest Grove police discovered her body while conducting a welfare check at the College Place Apartments, 2144 Hawthorne St., at 4:15 p.m. March 19.

This investigation is reportedly ongoing.
