Washington County Sheriff, Coast Guard Resume Search For Plane
Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office are working with the Coast Guard ta plane that witnesses say went down Sunday night.

HILLSBORO, OR — Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office are continuing the search for a plane that witnesses say that they saw go down Sunday evening. It happened just before 7 p.m.
Callers to 911 reported seeing a small plane spiral down and that was a loud boom followed by black smoke.
The witnesses say that it was in the area of Sunset Highway and Highway 47.

Deputies, assisted by a plane from the Coast Guard and search and rescue teams, looked Sunday for several hours before calling it a night.
They were back out on Monday morning.

The sheriff's office say that despite the calls to 911 there are no reports of any planes missing in the area. Officials are considering the possibility that people mistook contrails for a plane going down.
