Dickey Prairie Road Closed Through September

A portion of S. Dickey Prairie Road damaged by landslides two winters ago will undergo extensive repairs this summer.

MOLALLA, OR — A section of roadway in rural Clackamas County that was damaged by landslides during the winter of 2016-2017 will undergo several weeks of repairs and reconstruction beginning Monday, according to Clackamas County Transportation officials.

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, at least until early September, a portion of South Dickey Prairie Road south of South Molalla Forest Road will be completely closed while crews work. Only emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass through the area during active construction.

County officials said the following repairs and improvements will be made:

  • Removing the portion of the road damaged by the landslide(s);
  • Removing 210 feet of existing retaining wall;
  • Installing 2,400 square feet of a new, mechanically stabilized earth structure with a geogrid and gravel;
  • Paving, and adding pavement markings and striping; and
  • Adding guardrails.
