• Jeff Lawrence, founding publisher of the Dig, has died, family says (bostonglobe.com) — A former Oregon City High School student, Jeff Lawrence went on to become the founding publisher of Boston’s alternative weekly the Dig, which influenced that city’s media and arts scene for decades. Friends and colleagues remember him as a loud, driven champion of creative talent who kept the paper alive through sheer determination and gave many writers and editors their start.
