Flood Watch In Effect For Western Oregon Through Friday Evening

With heavy rain expected to continue through Thursday, the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the region.

OREGON CITY — You see all that rain outside? Remember all the snow that we had recently? Combine those things, add a little warmer weather, and what do you get?

A lot of water.

The National Weather Service's Portland office has issued a flood watch for northwest Oregon and southwest Washington. Portland, Gresham, Wilsonville, Oregon City, Lake Oswego, Hillsboro, Beaverton, the whole region.

The flood watch goes into effect at 4 a.m. Thursday and stays in place until 6 p.m. on Friday.

Forecasters say that the ongoing rain and rising snow levels means that people should "expect rising river levels, with potential of some flooding."

The good news is that forecasters – and this could change – are expecting dry weather for a few days starting on Friday.
