Healing Hearts 5k & 10k Returns to Oregon City

Angels in the Outfield, a nonprofit that supports children who've been victims of abuse, hosts annual 5K & 10K run/walk.

Angels in the Outfield is a nonprofit that supports children who were victims of abuse and crime. It launched in 2009 and is approaching a milestone: 1,000 children's have been clothed, fed or otherwise cared for thanks to the funds raised through events like the Healing Hearts 5 & 10K.

Join the other members of the Oregon City community who are committed to supporting young children in need. The walk is on Sunday, September 25th.

Instead of grabbing that expensive coffee on your way to the Healing Hearts walk, you can donate $3 to Angles in the Outfield instead. Register for Healing Hearts and continue to support victimized children, and their healing process.

More about The Angels in the Outfield

The Angels in the Outfield is all-volunteer organization and seeks to brighten the lives of children who have been impacted by crime or child abuse. The history behind the founding of The Angels in the Outfield lies with one woman, Shannon Kmetic, who after prosecuting a particularly difficult sexual abuse case, became an advocate for these children outside of the courtroom as well.

It's mission is simple: to promote children's healing, happiness and safety. It's goals? To aid an expedite the healing process for children in need. It's typically kids up to the age of 18, commonly from single parent homes, others are homeless. They come from various socio-economic backgrounds, primarily on the lower-income side.
