Newly Minted Millionaire Couple Will Still Clean The Cat Box

William and Aleta Breese of Happy Valley said one thing that won't change after their Oregon Lottery jackpot win is normal household chores.

HAPPY VALLEY, OR — While William and Aleta Breese know their recent $8.9 million Megabucks jackpot win will tweak a lot about their everyday lives, but they also know some things will stay very much the same.

"This changes a lot of things," Aleta told Oregon Lottery officials in Salem on Wednesday. "One thing it won't change is I will still have the clean the cat box."

When the Breeses of Happy Valley claimed their winnings in Salem, they became the 283rd jackpot winners to join the Megabucks millionaires club since the game was introduce in 1985.

William reportedly bought his lucky ticket, with winning Quick Pick numbers 09-20-22-25-27-48, from the 7-Eleven on the corner of Southeast Powell Boulevard and Southeast 122nd Avenue.

After picking up a relative from the airport this past Sunday, the Breeses stopped by a grocery store on the way home and William checked his ticket.

"The machine said to go to Lottery Headquarters. I looked over and saw the jackpot had changed to $1 million on the sign, and that's when I knew I won," William told lottery officials. "Just last week my wife gave me the saying, 'From the ocean of abundance, money always comes to me,' and told me to put it in my wallet. Then this happens."

William is now reportedly thinking about getting the phrase tattooed on his arm.

(We think he should also consider investing in a self-cleaning litter box.)
