OHA Director Patrick Allen Hospitalized With Non-COVID-19 Issue

The Oregon Health Authority says that Director Patrick Allen is in the hospital, adding that it's not COVID-19.

OREGON CITY, OR —The Oregon Health Authority says that its director, Patrick Allen, has been hospitalized since Sunday morning. They add that Allen does not have COVID-19.

Officials say that Allen was transported to the hospital after what they call a "serious fall." Officials say that he was being evaluated for "subsequent heart issues."

OHA says that Allen is expected to be released "soon."

"I'm grateful for the difficult, life-saving contributions he's made to Oregon's pandemic response" Governor Brown said. "He is in my thoughts and I wish him a very speedy recovery."

The agency says that Deputy Director Kris Kautz will oversee agency operations for at least this week while Allen is out.
