Oregon City Downtown Parking: City Offers Mobile Pay Option

Parking in Downtown Oregon City no longer means that you have to carry a roll of quarters to feed the meter.

OREGON CITY, OR — Heading downtown and thinking that you need to grab some change to feed the meeter? No longer a requirement n PregonCity.

The city announced that they've started using the mobile app, HotSpot, as an option for downtown parking

"As technology continues to change and visitors carry less coins for cash parking, the need for a mobile payment option arose," the city said in a statement.

Oregon City said that by downloading and using the HotSpot app, drivers (parkers?) won't have to carry change or use a credit or debit card.

The app, which all allow you to save your vehicle and payment information, will also notify people when the meter is running low and give them option to add more time without having to head back to their car.

For those who still like the jungle jangle of coins in their pocket, they will still be able to pay the old-fashioned way.
