Oregon City Weather: Another Day, Another Winter Storm Warning
More snow and ice means that Tuesday's morning commute, like Monday's, could be icy and dangerous.

OREGON CITY, OR — Tell me if this sounds familiar. The National Weather Service's Portland office issues a winter storm warning for the Portland metro area. They say that the snow and ice, mixed with freezing temperatures, could make the morning commute problematic.
That was the forecast Sunday into Monday. And they were certainly right about the traffic problems that would come along. There were crashes throughout the area – from 84 where a semi-truck jackknifed to 26 where there were several.
And it's now the forecast for Monday into Tuesday.

A new storm moving in led the National Weather Service to issue another Winter Storm Warning for the area. It's in effect through 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
While the snow shouldn't be as much as Monday's totals, there will be some sticking, most noticeably in the foothills of the Cascades and in the Coastal range.

There should be about an inch on the Valley floor though some areas could get more.
As a result, departments of transportation throughout the region have been working round the clock since Saturday, plowing and treating roads with salt and other substances.
Those agencies and local police departments – including the Oregon State Police – are urging people to not travel on Monday unless they must. And, if they have to, people are urged to take public transportation.
After Tuesday, snow should start fading from the forecast. For a few days at least.
