The work week for many is finally winding down and the weekend is fast-approaching. Luckily there are a number of interesting events going on in and around Portland over the next three days. Whether your interests are celebrating Mother’s Day or an extended Cinco De Mayo, Patch has provided a list of five notable events going on in and near the city. Portland Cinco De Mayo Festival- May 5-8

Funtastic carnival rides are back again this year as well as our Artisan Village, featuring artisans flying in from Jalisco, Mexico to share their beautiful artwork with you. 40th Annual Lake Run- May 7

According to the Lake Oswego Women’s Club website, “Celebrating its 40th year, the LOWC's Lake Run course is known for its hilly terrain and breath-taking views! The 2016 Lake Run will again feature a 10K run, 5K run/walk, Kid's dash and the ever-popular Family Fun Festival. Start the morning with the Family Fun Festival, complete with a giant slide, face-painting and crafts for the kids. Also, indulge in food and beverages from the food carts. This year’s 10K will take runners back to the lake route that everyone loves to hate. The 5K will meander around Lakewood Bay and onto North Shore Road giving runners and walkers alike a grand view of the main lake. The Kids’ dash will begin at the finish area on Evergreen Street and 2nd Street with a quick two block dash that turns around and finishes under the finish line arch.”
