• Congressman Bentz's Bill to Expand the City of The Dalles Water Passed in U.S. House of Representatives (gorgenewscenter.com) — Residents of The Dalles could see a major boost to their long‑term drinking water security after the U.S. House passed a bill to expand the city’s watershed. If the Senate and president approve, 150 acres of U.S. Forest Service land would transfer to the city, allowing a larger reservoir and better protection of the Crow Creek Dam and water supply.
   

• USDA Invests in Seven Projects to Boost Rural Oregon Agriculture and Business (gorgenewscenter.com) — A new USDA grant will send $30,000 to The Dalles-based Mid-Columbia Economic Development District to help small and emerging businesses with technical assistance, networking, and access to funding. The award is part of $532,000 invested statewide and will support entrepreneurs across Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman counties, potentially opening new opportunities for local startups and rural employers.
