One Person Hospitalized, Dog Dies In Wilsonville Fire
The early Monday morning blaze broke out in a second-floor apartment. Two people escaped that unit from the balcony.
WILSONVILLE, OR - One person was hospitalized and a dog was killed in a Monday morning apartment fire in Wilsonville, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue said.
According to TVF&R, at about 5:30 a.m., firefighters were called to an apartment complex at 28550 SW Ashland Drive, where a blaze had broken out on the second floor.
Fire officials said the fire mostly was contained to the second floor, and firefighters were able to put out the blaze quickly.

During the fire, two people in the second-floor apartment escaped from the balcony, while another person who got out of the building suffered from smoke inhalation, fire officials said.
Authorities said one of the people who escaped from building was transported to a local hospital. No update has been given on that person's condition. The other two people were treated at the scene by paramedics.

A dog perished in the fire, according to the TVF&R.

The second-floor unit sustained heavy damage in the fire, while there was smoke and thermal damage on the third floor. A first-floor apartment had significant water damage, fire officials said.
No cause of the fire has been given, but the TVF&R said a fire investigator was at the scene and is conducting an investigation.
TVF&R was assisted at scene by the Wilsonville Police Department, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, AMR Ambulance and Portland General Electric.
