'Responsible' Gambler Wins $66K Keno Jackpot
Enola Dick's reward for taking care of chores instead of watching the live results of her Keno pick will be a trip to Hawaii, she said.

SALEM, OR — It's possible Enola Dick misunderstood the intent behind the Oregon Lottery's suggestion that players "play responsibly," but she'll have plenty of time to work out the tip's semantics while counting the cash from her recent $60,000-plus Keno win on one of Hawaii's islands.
Dick, a Pendleton resident, reportedly bought her winning Keno ticket at Cadillac Jack's Saloon and Grill before remembering she needed to get home to put her clothes in the wash.
"I couldn’t watch the Keno game because I needed to get my laundry done," Dick recently told Oregon Lottery officials. "After I was done I looked up my numbers and I thought I had won maybe $30,000 or $40,000; I had no idea it was $66,000. It definitely paid off doing the laundry!"

Dick first took her ticket to Wilsonville's lottery payout center before she was told she'd need to visit the headquarters in Salem to redeem her Keno prize.
Dick bought a Special Keno 8-Spot ticket, lottery officials said, noting she matched all eight numbers for $25,000 and snagged the rolling Keno jackpot of $41,576 — bringing her total win to $66,576. The rolling jackpot will continue to grow until someone matches all eight numbers, lottery officials said.

For playing responsibly, and winning a nice chunk of change in the process, Dick said she plans to reward herself with a trip to Hawaii — something she's been planning for some time but hadn't been able to schedule.
“I guess the right moment came up sooner than I thought,” she said. “I may wait for the hurricane to pass. I want to go over and see some friends I have over there.”
Until then, Dick said, she'll enjoy a nice glass of champagne to celebrate.
