Jenkintown Community Meeting Over SPS Fire On Monday

Community leaders will hold a meeting Monday night at Jenkintown Library over the ramifications of the massive Jenkintown building fire.

JENKINTOWN, PA —Community leaders will meet the public on Monday night to discuss the ramifications of the SPS Technologies fire.

The meeting is the second community meeting scheduled to discuss the massive fire that destroyed the 600,000-square-foot Highland Avenue building last month.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Community leaders will hold the public meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 10, at the Jenkintown Library on 460 York Rd.

Officials said the meeting will be an opportunity to discuss the SPS Technologies fire and related concerns.

The Jenkintown Borough Council worked with State Sen. Art Haywood's office to schedule the meeting.

Haywood will attend along with State Reps. Napoleon Nelson and Ben Sanchez.

While their attendance has not been confirmed at the time of this notification, a representative from Governor Shapiro's office and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection have also been invited to attend.
