Abington Elementary Teacher Creates Art to Benefit Dog Rescue
Tara McFadden, a teacher at Copper Beech Elementary School, started a project this summer to fix up furniture into pieces of art.
ABINGTON, PA — A local elementary school teacher was recently featured on a local television news segment for her project to refurbish old furniture into pieces of art to benefit a dog rescue organization.
Tara McFadden, a teacher at Copper Beech Elementary School, was interviewed for CBS Philly’s Brotherly Love segment about her work to benefit the Stray Network Animal Rescue.
McFadden told the network that she got the idea during the pandemic to start selling some of her artwork to benefit the organization, from which she personally had previously fostered and adopted dogs.

McFadden dubbed her project ‘Refurbishing For Rescues,' and 100 percent of the profits made go to benefit the Stray Network Animal Rescue, which saves and finds homes for dogs in need of a little love and care.
“It’s a good way to mix my love of art and love of dogs and be able to pay it forward for a great cause,” McFadden stated on the news segment.
