Abington Man Sentenced for Threats Made at Jenkintown Restaurant

A man from the North Hills section of Abington was sentenced to jail time earlier this week after he pleaded guilty to making terroristic threats in a Jenkintown restaurant earlier this year.

According to an Intelligencer story, Patrick Sean McManus, 24, of the 400 block of Hamel Avenue, was sentenced Monday to 11-and-a-half to 23 months in county jail after he made threats during an incident March 2 at the Fig Café and Hookah Lounge restaurant in the 400 block of York Road.

According to the story, McManus was asked to leave after creating a disturbance; he then took a knife out of his sweatshirt pocket, threatened to cut the owner’s throat and threw a table against a wall. McManus will have to submit to a psychiatric evaluation, the story continued.

Weapons charges were withdrawn. 

According to court documents, McManus in the past has pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy-receiving stolen property; and two separate charges of theft from a motor vehicle.
