Abington Police Reports

The following police reports were taken from the Abington Police records room June 25.

 

Retail theft … Katherine R. McAnally, 50, of Brenton Hill Drive, Warminster, was arrested June 13 at 2:47 p.m. after a Bloomingdale’s loss prevention officer saw McAnally conceal 11 cosmetic items in a bag and leave without attempting to pay, police said. According to police, McAnally briefly resisted being stopped by the loss prevention officer. The value of the cosmetics totaled $393.

Possession of a controlled substance … Dylan Philip Kravitz, 18, of Oakfield Lane, Philadelphia, was arrested June 8 at 10:40 p.m. following a traffic stop at Willow Grove Park mall in which he almost struck two pedestrians after blowing a stop sign while driving at a relatively slow speed, police said. The vehicle then parked for 10 minutes, and then blew the same stop sign again. There was an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. In plain view in the passenger side door card was a small bag of suspected marijuana. Following a search, police found a silver marijuana grinder in the center console and a small plastic bag of suspected marijuana in the glove box. Kravitz said the marijuana and the drug paraphernalia was his.

Possession of a controlled substance and public drunkenness … Lena Renee Brinson, 52, of West Olney Avenue, Philadelphia, was arrested May 24 at 4:36 p.m. in the 2900 block of Windsor Avenue in Willow Grove following a call for a suspicious person, police said. When police arrived, they found Brinson standing in a driveway with her feet together and her arms extended to her side. Brinson had a distant gaze and did not know who she was or from where she came, police said. In her purse, police found two small glass jars with yellow tops; both contained brown and green leafy substances, which were soaked in liquid. The substances tested positive for phencyclidine — more commonly known as PCP.

Forgery, bad checks and identity theft … An arrest warrant was issued May 24 for Carol Ann Hennessy, 40, of Walker Avenue, Philadelphia, after police obtained photographs of Hennessy using the complainant’s information to withdraw $2,200 from the complainant’s account at Sovereign Bank in the 1400 block of Old York Road in October 2011.

DUI … Sean Michael Egan, 27, of Garfield Avenue, Glenside, was arrested April 7 at 1:49 a.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Edge Hill Road and Hawthorne Avenue for speeding and following too closely, police said. According to police, there was an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle, and Egan’s eyes were bloodshot. Egan said he had smoked marijuana earlier in the day; he failed a field sobriety test and his blood tested positive for the presence of Delta-9 THC.
