Armed Carjacking At Willow Grove Park Mall In Montco Injures 82-Year-Old Man
The suspects, described to be in their teens, reportedly struck the elderly man in the head, saying, 'this is a hold up.'

ABINGTON, PA — An elderly local man was the victim of an armed carjacking earlier this month outside of a popular mall, police announced Wednesday.
The Abington Township Police Department said that on Sept. 10, at around 8:15 in the evening, the 82-year-old victim was walking through the parking lot of the Willow Grove Park Mall after doing some shopping when he was approached from behind by two suspects.
One of the suspects struck the victim in the back of the head with a hard object and demanded money and keys to the victim's vehicle, police said.

"The suspects forced the victim to the ground and told him, 'this is a hold up - give us all your money,'" the police department stated in a news release. "The suspects stole a gift that the victim had just purchased for his wife and the keys to his truck, and then fled the scene in the victim's truck."
The stolen vehicle is a red 2008 Ford Ranger two-door pickup with a ladder rack in the bed, with Pennsylvania registration YVG3700.

The truck has yet to be recovered.
