When we experience trauma, addiction, struggles with body image, or a difficult relationship with food, we often become disconnected from ourselves. Parts of us become numb, feel detached, create discomfort, or even cause us pain. This eight-week series is comprised of meditations, gentle yoga sequences, and brief cognitive interventions designed to help one reconnect to and reclaim the body.
This eight-week series is not a processing/talk therapy group, but rather an opportunity to explore healing through meditation, sensation, and physical movement. Every week, participants will be offered a cognitive intervention/affirmation, and then begin a guided meditation that is an invitation to explore and bring sensation into the body. This will be followed by journaling and a yoga sequence that reminds us that we are in control of our bodies. Because this is not a processing group, it is recommended that participants be currently involved in individual therapy, so as to have a space to process what comes up for them through this meditative and movement-based work.
