Fire Erupts After Car Crashes Into Cheltenham Home

The La Mott Fire Company responded Thursday to a house fire and then a car that flipped on its side on Church Road.

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A fire erupted early Thursday morning after a car crashed into a home, fire officials said.

The La Mott Fire Company responded at 3:55 a.m. Thursday to a car fire on Chelten Hills Drive near Church Road.

Within a minute, fire officials upgraded the call to a building fire as the car, which was on fire, had crashed into a home, causing the house to catch fire.

There were no injuries reported.

Meanwhile, at 7:55 a.m., the fire company responded to a vehicle rescue with entrapment on Church Road at Pardee Lane.

Fire crews arrived to find a car on its side. With the assistance of the Weldon and Cheltenham fire companies, the driver was extracted with minor injuries.

The fire company was assisted by fire companies from Cheltenham, Abington, Jenkintown, Rockledge, and Springfield, along with the Cheltenham EMS, Cheltenham Police Department, Cheltenham Public Works, and multiple fire marshal offices.
