Clayton's Gun Store, an Easton Road shooting range, suffered "significant fire and water damage" that shut Route 611 on Monday afternoon.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A township shooting range suffered "significant fire and water damage" in a blaze that shut Route 611 in both directions for several hours Monday, authorities said.

Horsham Community Police Services said emergency crews responded at 2:25 p.m. on Monday to the 600 block of Easton Road for the report of a building fire.

Horsham ChATs said that additional fire and EMS personnel from Bucks and Montgomery counties assisted. Easton Road was closed for over five hours at Maple and Meetinghouse roads.

The Montgomery County Hazmat team was called in due to the ammunition in the store. PECO, the North Penn Goodwill Canteen, and SEPTA (which provided a bus to keep Clayton's employees warm) also assisted.

Clayton’s Gun Store's business owner and employees were assisted by the township's Department of Emergency Management.

"Our thoughts are with the Clayton family and all of their employees during this difficult time," Horsham ChATs said.
