‘Giant’ Donation to DARE

On the heels of the , representatives from Giant Food Stores presented two $500 checks to the Abington Police DARE program.

Each year, Abington’s DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program serves about 700 students attending public, private and parochial schools in Abington Township.

With recent cuts in state grants for DARE, the Abington Township Police Department has had to find alternate sources of funding to keep the program running.
