Girl, 15, Fatally Shot Jenkintown Teen: DA

A 17-year-old was found fatally shot in the head in Jenkintown on Monday, authorities said. She is being charged as an adult with murder.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A 15-year-old girl has been charged in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy in Abington Township on Monday, authorities said.

Precious Hamilton, 15, of Jenkintown, has been charged as an adult with the fatal shooting of the teenager, the Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Abington Township Police Chief Patrick Molloy said Tuesday.

Abington Township Police responded to a 911 call just after 5 p.m. on Monday for an unresponsive person in the 100 block of York Road in the township's Jenkintown section.

Police found the teenager dead from a gunshot wound on the bedroom floor.

Authorities identified the accused as a friend of the victim. Family members told police they believed the pair to be in a romantic relationship.

The victim’s mother told authorites she left her son and Hamilton in the apartment at approximately 2:40 p.m., when she went to run errands with one of her younger children. When she came home less than two hours later, she found her son unresponsive in the bedroom.

An autopsy performed determined the teen died of a gunshot wound to the head.
