Health Inspections For Abington In 2023 So Far
Inspections so far note "fly-like" insects at a local bar, lack of a certified food sanitation manager at a grocery store and more.
ABINGTON, PA — Numerous establishments in Abington have already been visited by health inspectors in 2023.
Below are establishments visited, their inspection date, and number of violations found (if any):
- IRON HILL BREWERY AND RESTAURANT - Jan. 20, 17 violations. Violations included frozen fish thawed at room temperature, "fly-like" insects at the bar area, knifes stored in a hand sink and improper lids for iced tea containers. See the inspection report here.
- RITE AID #188 - Jan. 3, three violations (all since resolved as of Jan. 20) including dented cans of soup and a missing waste receptacle in the women's bathroom. See the initial inspection report here.
- GIANT FOOD STORE #6509 - Jan. 20, nine violations including dead insects trapped in ceiling light shields in the produce prep room, unapproved insect control devices in the bakery and the lack of a Certified Food Sanitation Manager (CFSM) issued by Montgomery County Office of Public Health (MCOPH). - MCKINLEY TAVERN - Jan. 19, 10 violations including missing dates on refrigerated food containers, cardboard lining shelving where clean plates are stored and a wall in the men's restroom "with large section cut out and missing." See the inspection report here.
