Five former Genuardi’s stores — including the Genuardi’s in Huntingdon Valley — will open as Giant stores today at 8 a.m.
The store closed June 28 to undergo a makeover. In addition to “Giant” signage, the stores were given an updated refrigeration system, better lighting, new paint and a thorough cleaning. The stores also received updated produce, bakery, deli and seafood sections, according to a press release.

“While all store aisles have been updated with new signage, we’ve worked hard to keep products in the same general location. At the same time, we will be bringing an improved selection to customers across the store,” Giant President Rick Herring said in the press release.
