Keswick Theatre Pays Tribute To Legendary Philly DJ

GLENSIDE, PA — He appeared on stage just days before, introducing The Hooters as they performed two shows at the Keswick Theatre last Friday and Saturday nights.

Legendary Philly DJ Pierre Robert got his big break after an interview during a Hooters concert, and showed support for decades for the local band that achieved national success.

Robert, 70, was found dead on Wednesday in his Gladwyne home by Lower Merion Township Police.

The Keswick Theatre paid tribute with a statement and a sign on its iconic building on Wednesday.

"Philadelphia and the music world in general lost a great friend and ally yesterday. WMMR’s Pierre Robert has passed away," the theatre said. "The Keswick family cannot thank him enough for decades of support, friendship, fun, and music, and our hearts are with his family, friends, coworkers, and everyone feeling the sting today. Rest in peace, great citizen. Thanks for gracing our fine village with your presence."
