Woman Killed By SEPTA Train In Cheltenham
SEPTA said the woman was struck and killed by a regional rail train just north of Melrose Park Station on Saturday afternoon.
CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A woman was struck and killed by a SEPTA train that suspended regional rail lines for several hours, officials said.
The woman was struck and killed by an outbound Lansdale/Doylestown Regional Rail train north of Melrose Park Station at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, SEPTA spokesman John Golden said.
Golden said there were about 300 passengers on the train when the incident happened.

The train strike resulted in the suspension of the Warminster, Lansdale/Doylestown, and West Trenton Regional Rail Lines for over two hours on Saturday, Golden said.
The woman's identity was not revealed.

Service was later restored to all impacted regional rail lines.
SEPTA did not provide any more details about how the woman was struck, and what caused the incident.
