One issue that has been a frequent topic of discussion among the people I meet is the new law requiring voters to present photo ID when they go to the polls on Nov. 6. The people I have met include the young and elderly, black and white, blue collar and white collar, Republican, Democrat and Independent. Everyone has an opinion and is entitled to it; conversation and debate is what makes this country the envy of the world. Whether we agree with the voter ID law or not, the fact remains it is the law and will now most likely be in effect this November. We must now move onto the next phase, which is ensuring that those without proper ID are afforded the opportunity to get one and exercise their right to vote.
Now is not the time to boast or complain partisan rhetoric, now is the time to ensure any person who wants to vote will have the opportunity to do so. I will gladly help any person — Republican, Democrat or Independent — obtain an acceptable form of identification. If you have any questions I can be reached through my website, nickforpahouse.com.
