New Science Center, Renovated High School Celebrated In Abington
Renovations to Abington Senior High School dated back to a groundbreaking event in late 2018 on the same grounds of Friday's ribbon cutting.

ABINGTON, PA — Abington Township School District representatives celebrated the grand reopening of the local high school this past Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The event was also held to highlight the new Stephen A. Schwarzman Center for Science and Technology.
The event was held at the same site at which the district had a groundbreaking ceremony back in November 2018 to highlight the planned renovations and additions to the educational institution.

The new science center was named in honor of Stephen A. Schwarzman, a 1965 graduate of Abington Senior High School who had donated $25 million to the project in an "effort to help inspire a new generation of future-ready learners," the district stated on its website.
Schwarzman is also the namesake of the high school's sports stadium, a 3,500-seat space that was constructed back in 2005.
