MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A Philadelphia man has been sentenced to time in Montgomery County jail for drug trafficking in Cheltenham, according to media reports and court records.

Andre Jones, 33, of the city's Germantown section, was given a sentence of 3 to 23 months at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility following a recent guilty plea hearing before Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas M. DelRicci.

State court records show that Jones had pleaded guilty on March 10 to a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

The Mercury newspaper of Pottstown reported that the drug arrest stemmed from an incident in Cheltenham Township in the fall of 2020 during which a police officer conducting a traffic stop on Jones in the Wyncote section of the township discovered the defendant to be in possession of 45 small packets that were subsequently determined to be cocaine.

Jones was also found to be in possession of significant amounts of cash and numerous cellphones.
