Police Crack Down On Illegal Solicitors In Abington

Abington Police have pulled the permit on one solicitor for the month and are urging residents to be mindful of them.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Abington Township Police are warning residents about illegal solicitors after recently pulling the permit of one.

Abington Police said the solicitation permit for EcoShield has been revoked for August due to failure to follow township rules.

Anyone who sees solicitors from this company in your neighborhood during this time should contact the police department.

Police are also providing residents with tips to manage solicitors:

  • Place a “No Soliciting” sign on your door or somewhere that is visible.
  • Register on the “No Solicitation” list
  • Do not confront the solicitors.
  • Immediately call 911 to have an officer dispatched to the area if you have a no soliciting sign and/or on the list, and they still come to your door
  • Solicitors should have their soliciting permit on them at all times
  • Non-profit solicitors do not need a soliciting permit
  • Solicitors have to respect any no solicitation sign that you use
