Police Warn Of Illegal Solicitors In Cheltenham
Cheltenham Police said that soliciting is prohibited in the township. Residents have called with complaints.
CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Cheltenham Township Police Department is warning residents to be on the lookout and report illegal solicitors.
Cheltenham Police said they have received some calls from residents regarding solicitors.
At this time, there are no soliciting permits in effect in the township, meaning any business that is currently soliciting is violating township ordinances.

Police said residents should call them if a solicitor comes to their home.
Police said the permitting process is in place primarily to ensure that those engaged in soliciting do not have a criminal record, and are in fact soliciting on behalf of legitimate businesses.
