Pre-Night Out, Café Con Pan and a Meeting, This Week
Check out a few things happening in Abington this week.

- On Monday, Aug. 5 from 5 to 10 p.m., Abington will host its 14th annual Pre-Night Out event at the Target parking lot on Old York Road. The event will be hosted by the Abington Township Joint Town Watch Council, the Abington Police Department and the Abington Radio Emergency Associated Communication Teams. - The Abington Board of Commissioners will meet Thursday, Aug. 8 at the township building at 8 p.m. See the agenda for the meeting here.
- On Thursday, Aug. 8, the Abington Township Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with PECO, will host Café Con Pan, a Latin jazz and salsa band, as part of the Abington Art Center’s Summer Concert Series. The show runs from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. A $5 donation is requested. For more information, click here. The show was postponed due to bad weather in July; this is the last concert of the series for the Abington Art Center.

- The Briar Bush Nature Center, as part of its Great Escape Program, will host a trip to the Goschenhoppen Folk Festival on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $45. - Catch up with Abington Commissioner Jim Ring on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Roychester Park. Learn the history of the Roychester Community House, see the new Memorial Garden and see the improvements to the head of Sandy Run. Meet at 9 a.m. in the Community House. Briar Bush Nature Center sponsors the event.
