12 More PA Counties Going To Green Phase Next Week, Governor Says

Gov. Tom Wolf on Friday announced the next batch of counties that will be moving to the green phase.

HARRISBURG, PA — Gov. Tom Wolf on Friday announced the next batch of counties that will be moving to the green phase of coronavirus mitigation.

A dozen additional counties will move to green on June 12. Those counties are Adams, Beaver, Carbon, Columbia, Cumberland, Juniata, Mifflin, Northumberland, Union, Wayne, Wyoming and York.

“As of one minute after midnight this morning, every county in Pennsylvania has moved out of the red phase,” Gov. Wolf said. “And, at 12:01 a.m. Friday, June 12, 12 more counties will move from the yellow into the green phase.”

The Philadelphia region is among the final area that moved to yellow on Friday. The 10 counties that are in the yellow phase as of Friday are Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lehigh, Northampton, Montgomery and Philadelphia.

There are currently 33 Pennsylvania counties currently in yellow and 34 in green.

The developments come as 443 additional positive cases of COVID-19 were reported Friday by the state health department. The statewide case total is now at 74,385. Also Friday, 69 new deaths were reported, bringing the statewide death toll to 5,886.

Of the Pennsylvania's total deaths, 4,077 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
