PA Weather: Severe Thunderstorms On The Way, Forecasters Say
Minor flooding and fierce storms are possible through the weekend in parts of PA. Here's what - and when - to expect.
PENNSYLVANIA — Flooding and severe storms are possible starting Friday and going through the weekend in parts of Pennsylvania as additional rounds of wet weather return to the forecast.
Though Thursday is expected to be sunny with a high around 80 in the Keystone State, storm clouds are slated to roll in by Thursday overnight into Friday, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service. Showers will likely take place though the morning Friday, with thunderstorms set to begin early Friday afternoon and linger through Saturday.
Showers and thunderstorms - some strong to severe - are in store Friday, the weather service said, with gusty winds and small hail also possible.

The risk of severe storms should be lower Saturday, said forecasters. Still, AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson said that Saturday's weather is "certainly not the type" for going to the beach or hanging out at the pool, unless you catch a rain-free hour here and there.
"At least the gardens, lawns and crops in the fields will appreciate the moisture," Anderson said.
As of Thursday afternoon, a hazardous weather outlook is in effect for three Pennsylvania counties due to potential minor coastal flooding through Saturday. The affected counties are:
- Delaware
- Bucks
- Philadelphia
The storm clouds should finally clear by Saturday evening before around 8 p.m., the National Weather Service said, just in time for a sunny Sunday on Father's Day with highs near 83.
