PA Weather: Thunderstorms, Flooding Possible Wednesday
The threat of thunderstorms Wednesday comes after a tornado was reported earlier this week. Here's the latest forecast:
PENNSYLVANIA - Thunderstorms and showers are slated to hit the Keystone State throughout Wednesday, with flooding possible in parts of the state.
The storms will develop Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service, and continue through around 11 p.m. As of 2:43 p.m., there’s a strong thunderstorm moving towards the Philadelphia region that will impact portions of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties until 3:15 p.m. according to the NWS.
"A thunderstorm cannot be ruled out as these showers continue progressing eastward and out of the area this afternoon," the National Weather Service said. Clouds will begin to taper off later today, with lingering breezy conditions."

The northeast portion of the state is likely to see rain Wednesday with a 80 to 90 percent chance of precipitation, the weather service said. The southeast, including Philadelphia, stands at around a 80 percent chance of precipitation; the rest of the state has a 90 percent chance of rain.
Minor coastal flooding is also possible through Friday.

The threat of thunderstorms Wednesday comes a day after a brief EF-0 tornado that touched down in York County was reported. The tornado reached maximum winds near 75 mph Monday, knocking down a few trees along its 1/3 mile track with a longevity of two minutes.
The silver lining: Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 82.

Wednesday afternoon: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. High near 74. Southwest wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm, then a slight chance of showers between 7pm and 8pm. Mostly clear, with a low around 54. West wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Northwest wind around 10 mph.
Thursday night: A chance of showers after 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Friday: A chance of showers before 11am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11am and 2pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Light and variable wind becoming west 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers between 11pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
